What is a Content Management System?
A content management system (often referred to as a CMS) is server-based software that enables users to manage, update and maintain their websites without the need for any specific technical knowledge or programming skills. Content management effectively gives you complete control over the text, images and graphics within your website.
The Internet Works content management system (CMS) is basically a web publishing tool that enables its clients to easily publish content onto the website, and for that content to be organised and managed in a coherent and effective way.
The client can concentrate on adding, updating and maintaining the content while the design layout and corporate style is not affected. The content management system can be set so it only enables specified users to log on to the system and author specific content and media on the website without having to learn or consider the underlying technologies or programming languages.
In practice it is as easy to publish to the web as it is to write and save an MS Word document.
